Isn’t it fantastic to be in the summer term? I just love this time of year when we can get up and go home within daylight hours, the children are in their summer uniforms and the hope of some much-needed warm weather is near.
As always, we are going to be extremely busy this term, so brace yourselves, Newbolians! Obviously, our children have lots to learn in their various classes before they go off for the summer; hard work and determination is still the key to success. We particularly think of our Year 6 children who will be sitting their SATs exams on the week of May 12th, so let’s remember them in our prayers.
It wouldn’t be Newbold School without a full social calendar and our first big event is the ADRA concert on Saturday 26th April, just after the new term begins. The choir has been invited to sing, which is a great honour for us. It promises to be a fantastic evening of music of a very high standard. Then on May 31st at 7:30 pm, we are all invited to the House of Magical Piano Music performed by Ray BoWang in the SDA church. Our school will receive some of the proceeds from this evening through the generosity of Mr and Mrs Becejac, so please bring your friends and family to support us. Even if you are not a member of our school and are just reading this blog to see what we are about, please feel free to come and join us. You will not want to miss hearing this young man perform; he is exquisite.
We are also having our first football tournament on Sunday 4th May from 12 – 1pm. Our Year 3-6 footballers are invited to take part. Meanwhile a pampering evening is being organised by the PTFA from 3-6pm on the same day, so come along and enjoy some much-earned relaxation. In Of course, several bake sales will be held between now and the end of term when the PTFA transform our school hall into a glorious cafe from 12:30pm until the food runs out. Also, roll on Sunday 8th June to our school fete; we have a fabulous day lined up for you.
Basically, there is something for everyone during the summer term. Keep an eye on our website calendar for dates and times of what is happening in and around the school. What a privilege to work in such a wonderful school and to be a part of the excitement that surrounds it. Have a wonderful term everyone.
God bless you all,
Mrs J Crissey

Luke stood quietly as his mother talked to the school principal. His eyes traced the brightly colored leaves on a large paper tree mounted to the wall. Each paper leaf had a name on it. Red apples were scattered on the tree’s branches as well. Luke wondered what they stood for....
