Storybook Ending for Children's Project
Year 5 & 6 pupils at Newbold School wrote a short story ready for publication. The successful authors proudly presented the first copies of 'The Cool Book of Stories' at their assembly on 5th December.
Singing school children hit the high note in front of Princess
Newbold School Choir travelled to London to sing festive songs to Princess Alexandra. They performed in a charity concert in St George's Church, Hanover Square. Head Teacher and conductor, Pat Eastwood, said "the children were thrilled to meet a real Princess".
Morning helps boost cancer charity funds
Hundreds of people across the area put the kettle on and got involved in the World's Biggest Coffee Morning in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.
Newbold School gave support to this valuable cause by hosting its own coffee morning. Children from Years 5 & 6 became waiters and waitresses for this event, welcoming visitors from the community as well as parents and staff.
