Foundation One Virtual Tour
Foundation One Class Registration
Children can start attending Newbold School from the age of 3 years old and will join the Foundation One class. Mrs Jennings leads this class with the valuable support of Mrs McCormac and Mrs Murphy.
Children can attend a selection of morning sessions (8.45am – 12.10pm), afternoon sessions (12.30PM-3.30PM) or full-days (8.45am-3.30pm) depending on availability.
We follow the national curriculum for Early Years Foundation Stage (DfE, 2012) incorporating the outcomes within ‘Every Child Matters’ (DfES, 2003).
We welcome children from all cultures and backgrounds and use many strategies to ensure they are fully supported and feel settled and happy.
We are committed to support every child reach their full potential. This is accomplished by having daily, ability-based small group times for the adult-led activities. Children with advanced skills in phonics have the opportunity to move up to our Foundation 2 class for these sessions. We use visual aids and work with multi-agency professionals if children need extra support or do not speak English.
We aim to meet every child’s individual needs by working in partnership with parents and following the child’s interests.
Children primarily learn through play within our holistic learning environment.
Our classroom is large and supports the different areas of learning: There are areas for sensory play, construction, painting, home corner, book corner and table-top activities. We have free-flow access to our enclosed outside area for Early Years children, as well as scheduled times in the large school playground with apparatus. Our school hall is used for PE sessions.
Children need to be toilet trained when they start in F1.
Please feel free to make an appointment to come and visit us.
